Unrelated to Small dogs, but still interesting

My sister sent me these images. I wanted to share them here.

Stuart Brown describes Norbert Rosing's striking images of a wild
polar bear coming upon tethered sled dogs in the wilds of Canada 's
Hudson Bay. The photographer was sure that he was going to see the
end of his dogs when the polar bear wandered in, but the Polar Bear
returned every night that week to play with the dogs.

This afternoon

Well it is definitely caterpillar season. There are dozens of them wandering around on the trail, getting stepped on by the dogs, horses, people and cyclists who don't see them and eating everything in sight. I was surprised to see them eating the poison oak, as i figured there must be something in the plant to protect itself from such a ravishment, but I guess not. Today an equestrian and her horse passed us twice, and I got to find out that yes in fact, Murphy does bark at horses. Luckily I saw her both times from far enough away, that I was able to restrain both dogs as she passed. We have room for four more small dogs in every afternoon group, Mon-Fri. This afternoon

Yay! Murphy joined the tuesday afternoon walking group today. He enjoyed playing fetch with Parker. And very surprisingly, Blue ate Natural Balance dog treats. Blue is usually very picky and distanes treats and water, but not today. Well... she has yet to drink water on the trail, so we stick to shady trail, or she gets hosed down before her walk so that she doesn't overheat. But she did seem to enjoy her treats today.

On the trail

Murphy continues to be the love of my life (at least working life) on Mondays and Wednesdays. Bandit continues to be an entriguing challenge, but he's doing much better at walking on a loose lead. Blue has been very playful lately. She loves to play with the tennis ball, second only to Parker. Parker as always is obsessed with playing fetch. We'd love to fill up our afternoon group to six dogs. If you are interested in joining us, please contact us via the website: www.LPBA.net
